Designed for pulse-width modulation (PWM) current control in DC motors, A3959SB, A3959SLB, and A3959SLP are capable of delivering output currents up to ±3 amps and operating at 50 volts. The internal fixed downtime pulse-width modulation (PWM) current-controlled timing circuitry can be adjusted by the control input to operate in low, fast, and mixed current decay modes.
The Phase and Enable inputs control the speed and direction of the DC motor for external application of PWM control signals. An internal synchronous rectification control circuit is used to reduce power consumption during pulse-width modulation (PWM) operation.
Internal circuit protection includes overheating shutdown caused by hysteresis, overvoltage monitoring of power supplies and charging pumps, and crossover current protection. No special power-up sequencing is required.
