• Product Introduction

The A8500 is a multi-output WLED driver for medium-sized display backlighting. The A8500 integrates a boost converter and eight sink currents to provide flexible WLED/RGB backlit drivers. Boost converters provide output voltages up to V. Flexible channel selection control and high voltage capacity for a wide range of LED backlighting applications. The A8500 can support any application that requires 4 to 96 WLEDs. A boost converter is a constant frequency current-mode converter.

Each LED channel can draw 25 mA of current, and for higher currents, the channels can be connected in parallel. Flexible light and dark control allows the output channel to operate at an adjustable DC value or in an externally controlled PWM operating cycle.

The A8500 is available in a 26-pin, 4 mm × 4 mm QFN/MLP package with a nominal height of just 0.75 mm. Applications include:
