• Product Introduction

The A8515 is a multi-output white LED (WLED) driver used for LCD backlighting in consumer and industrial displays. It integrates a current-mode boost converter with an internal power switch and two current converters. The boost converter can drive up to 24 LEDs: 12 LEDs in a single string with a current of 120 mA. LED switches can be connected in parallel to achieve higher LED currents up to 240 mA. The A8515 can operate from a single supply from 5 to 40 V.

PWM light and dark control is performed via an external PWM input signal. The LED intensity is controlled using the PWM light and dark pin by using pulse width modulation.

Regulating voltages as low as 720 mV on the LED current source reduce power consumption and increase efficiency.

The A8515 is available in a 16-pin TSSOP package (suffix LP) with an exposed heatsink mounted. It is packaged as a lead-free product and is 100% matte tin plated.
