• Product Introduction

The A8585 series is designed to meet the power supply requirements of next-generation automotive audio and infotainment systems. The A8585 series provides all the control and protection circuitry required for a high-current regulator with an output voltage accuracy of ±1.0%.

In PWM mode, the A8585 series uses current mode control to provide simple compensation, excellent stability, and fast transient response. In low IQ mode, the A8585 series uses pulse frequency regulation to draw less than 33 μA at 12 VIN while providing 5.0 V/40 μA.

In terms of operation, the A8585 series can operate at voltages as low as 3.6 VIN (voltage drop). The optional sleep mode feature allows for extremely low standby current.

Features of the A8585 series include programmable PWM switching frequencies. The regulator switching frequency can be synchronized to an external clock. The A8585 has external compensation to optimize stability and transient response, making it suitable for a wide range of external components and applications. The A8585 has a fixed soft-start time of 5 ms.

The A8585's extensive protection features include pulse-by-pulse current limiting, burp mode short-circuit protection, open/short-circuit asynchronous diode protection, BOOT open/short-circuit voltage protection, VIN undervoltage lockout, and overtemperature shutdown.

The A8585 is available in a 10-pin SOIC package with an exposed power strip (suffix: LK). The package is a lead-free (Pb) package with 100% matte tin plating on the pin frame.
