A8585The series is designed to meet the power supply requirements of next-generation automotive audio and infotainment systems. The A8585 family provides all the control and protection circuitry required for high current regulators with an output voltage accuracy of ±1.0%.

In PWM mode,A8585The series uses current mode control to provide simple compensation, excellent stability, and fast transient response. In low IQ mode, the A8585 family uses pulse frequency adjustment at 12 VINConsumes less than 33 μA while providing 5.0 V/40 μA.

For operation, the A8585 family can be used down to 3.6 VIN(Pressure drop.)) to operate at voltage. An optional sleep mode feature allows extremely low standby current.

Features of the A8585 family include programmable PWM switching frequency. The regulator switching frequency can be synchronized to an external clock. The A8585 has external compensation to optimize stability and transient response for a wide range of external components and applications. The A8585 has a fixed soft-start time of 5 ms.

The A8585's extensive protection features include pulse-by-pulse current limit, hiccup mode short-circuit protection, open/short-circuit asynchronous diode protection, BOOT open/short-circuit voltage protection, VINUndervoltage lockout and thermal shutdown.

The A8585 is available in a 10-pin SOIC package (suffix: LK) with an exposed power board. The package is lead (Pb) free with 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
