A8600Designed to meet the power needs of next-generation car audio and infotainment systems, it provides all the control and protection circuitry needed to operate four high-current regulators with ±1.5% accuracy. The A8600 has adjustable asyncs for running three MOSFETs with integrated MOSFETsBuck regulatorof control circuits. In addition, the A8600 provides the control circuitry, gate drivers, and current sensing required to run a synchronous buck controller with external MOSFETs. In standby mode, the A8600 operates at 12 V VIN consumes less than 50 μA and uses pulse frequency modulation (PFM) to deliver 3.3 V/40 μA through the constant-flow regulator SW1. The constant-through regulator can be operated down to 3.6 VIN(VIN drop) operates at voltage.
Features of the A8600 include an EN/SYNC input to turn on/off the A8600 or increase/decrease the basic pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency, four adjustable soft-start times and four external compensation pins. Output voltage monitoring for switches SW2, SW3, and SW4 is provided by a separate open-drain POK output. In addition, the A8600 offers two high-voltage, high-side switches with foldback overcurrent protection. These two high-side switches actively block the reverse current. The A8600 also offers direct battery (BU) and switched (accessory) battery (ACC) detectors and a mute pulse output with adjustable delay.
Protection features of the A8600 include pulse-by-pulse current limit, hiccup mode short-circuit protection, asynchronous diode protection, BOOT voltage protection, undervoltage lockout, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown.
The A8600 is available in a low profile, exposed power board in a 48-pin LQFP package (suffix: LP). The package is lead (Pb) free and features 100% matte tin leadframe plating.
