• Product Introduction

The A8603 is a fixed-frequency multi-output power supply for LCD bias. The device can be programmed or synchronized with an external clock signal to obtain a 350 kHz to 2.25 MHz switching frequency. This minimizes interference with the AM and FM bands.

Utilizing an I2C-compatible serial interface, the system microcontroller can configure the A8603 by writing to its internal registers. In the event of a failure, the system controller can also access the A8603 status registers.

The A8603 integrates a boost stage followed by two linear regulators and two charge pump regulators. Each output voltage can be programmed independently via a serial interface. During power-up and shutdown, the output can be turned on and off in a pre-programmed sequence (with adjustable delay). This allows for the sequencing requirements of specific LCD panels.

All outputs are short-circuit protected. The boost switch has overcurrent and overvoltage protection.

The A8603 is available in a 24-pin 4-× 4 mm QFN and 24-pin TSSOP package, both of which come with exposed thermal pads to operate at higher ambient temperatures. The packaging is lead-free and 100% matte tin plated.
