• Product Introduction

The Allegro™ ACS764 fully integrated Hall-effect current sensor IC is designed for applications that require digital current sensing and reporting over the I2C™ bus. Allegro factory programming of deviation and gain, including temperature coefficient, stabilizes deviation and gain over the entire operating temperature range. This programming significantly reduces the total error of the unit by less than 2% over the entire operating temperature range. In addition, a fast response to digital fault output is provided. Rough sensitivity and fault level programming can be done via I2C control registers for improved diagnostics.

The integration of low-resistance conductors eliminates the need for external shunt resistors, and the errors associated with shunt resistors can be eliminated by using Hall effect technology, which can vary with temperature. The unit accommodates 16 unique I2C bus addresses that can be selected via an external pin. The sensor IC gain can be selected via the I2C bus. The unit uses the BiCMOS process to achieve a highly stable and stable chopper small signal amplifier design.

The ACS764 is available in a compact 24-pin QSOP package (suffix: LF). The pin frame is 100% matte tin plated and is compatible with standard lead-free printed circuit board assembly processes. The device does not contain lead inside, except for the current RoHS-exempt high-temperature leaded solder balls used in the flip method.
