The AD2S1210BSTZ is a 10-bit to 16-bit resolution resolver-to-digital converter with an on-chip programmable sine wave oscillator that provides sine wave excitation to the resolver.
The sine and cosine inputs of the converter allow the input of 3.15 V p-p ± 27% of the frequency range from 2 kHz to 20 kHz. The Type II servo loop tracks the input signal and converts the information at the sine and cosine inputs into digital quantities corresponding to the input angle and speed. The maximum tracking rate is 3125 rps.
The AD2S1210-EP supports defense and aerospace applications (AQEC).
Product Focus
1. Ratio tracking conversion. The Type II tracking loop continuously outputs position data with no conversion delay. It also rejects noise and harmonic distortion tolerance of reference and input signals.
2. System fault detection. Fault detection circuitry can detect swirling signal loss, out-of-range input signal, input signal mismatch, or loss of position tracking. The individual fault detection thresholds can be individually programmed by the user to be optimized for specific applications.
3. Input signal range. The sine and cosine inputs support a differential input voltage of 3.15 V p-p ± 27%.
4. Programmable excitation frequency. The excitation frequency can be easily set to multiple standard frequencies in the range of 2 kHz to 20 kHz.
5. 3x position data. 10-bit to 16-bit absolute angular position data can be accessed through a 16-bit parallel port or a 4-wire serial interface. The incremental encoder simulation uses the standard A-quad-B format and provides directional output.
6. Digital speed output. 10-bit to 16-bit signed digital speeds can be accessed through a 16-bit parallel port or a 4-wire serial interface
