The AD5300 is a single-channel, 8-position buffered output DAC that operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and consumes 115 μA at 3 V. It has a built-in on-chip precision output amplifier that enables rail-to-rail output swing. The AD5300 features a versatile three-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates up to 30 MHz and is compatible with standard SPI™, QSPI™, MICROWIRE,™ and DSP interface standards.

The AD5300's voltage reference is obtained from the supply input, so it has the widest dynamic output range. The device has a built-in power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output is powered up to 0 V and maintains that level until a valid write operation is performed on the device. It also features power saving, reducing the device's power consumption to 200 nA at 5 V in power-saving mode and providing a software-selectable output load. The power saving mode can be entered through the serial interface.
In normal operating mode, the device has low power consumption, making it ideal for portable battery-powered devices. Power consumption is 0.7 mW at 5 V and drops to 1 μW in power-saving mode.
The AD5300 is a member of the pin-compatible family of DACs, the AD5310 is a 10-bit product, and the AD5320 is a 12-bit product. The AD5300/AD5310/AD5320 are available in 6-pin SOT-23 and 8-pin μSOIC packages.
