The AD5421 has a built-in regulated output to power itself and other devices in the transmitter. This regulator provides a regulated output voltage from 1.8 V to 12 V. The device also has built-in 1.22 V and 2.5 V references, eliminating the need for discrete regulators and references.
The AD5421 can be used in conjunction with standard HART® FSK protocol communication circuits without compromising rated performance. The high-speed serial interface is capable of operating at 30 MHz and allows for simple connection to commonly used microprocessors and microcontrollers via an SPI-compliant three-wire interface.
The AD5421 guarantees 16-bit monotonicity. Under typical conditions, the integration nonlinearity is 0.0015%, the offset error is 0.0012%, and the gain error is 0.0006%.
It is available in a 28-pin TSSOP package and is rated for a temperature range of −40°C to +105°C industrial temperatures.
