The AD5541/AD5542 are single, 16-bit, serial input, voltage outputDigital-to-analog converters(DAC) from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. The DAC output range is 0 V to VREF
The DAC output range is 0 V to VREF, which guarantees monotonicity, provides 1 LSB INL accuracy (16 bits) without adjustment, and is specified over the −40°C to +85°C temperature range. The AD5541/AD5542 provide unbuffered outputs with 1 μs settling time, low power consumption, and low offset error. These devices offer low noise performance and low glitches of 11.8 nV/√Hz for use in a variety of end systems.
The AD5542 operates in bipolar mode and generates ±VREF Output swing. It also includes a Kelvin sense connection for the reference voltage to the analog ground pin to reduce layout sensitivity.
THE AD5541/AD5542 FEATURE A VERSATILE 3-WIRE INTERFACE AND ARE COMPATIBLE WITH SPI, QSPI,™ MICROWIRE™, AND DSP INTERFACE STANDARDS. The AD5541/AD5542 are available in 8-lead and 14-lead SOIC packages.

Product Focus
- Single-supply operation. The AD5541 and AD5542 are both specified for supply voltages from 2.7 V to 5.5 V.
- Low power consumption. With a 5 V supply, the power consumption is typically 0.625 mW; With a 3 V supply, the power consumption is typically 0.375 mW.
- 3-wire serial interface.
- The unbuffered output is capable of driving a 60 kΩ load. Because there is no internal buffer to drive, power consumption is reduced.
- Power-on reset circuit.
