The AD5544/AD5554 are 16- and 14-bit, current-output digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that operate from 2.7 V to 5.5 V.
The full-scale output current is determined by the applied external reference input voltage (VREFX). When used with an external current-to-voltage precision amplifier, the integrated feedback resistor (RFB) provides temperature tracking and full-scale voltage output.
The dual-buffered serial data interface utilizes serial data input (SDI), chip selection (CS), and clock (CLK) signals to provide high-speed, three-wire, SPI, and microcontroller-compatible inputs. When using multiple packages, these DACs can also be daisy-chained via serial data output pins (SDOs). With a common level-sensitive, loaded DAC strobe (LDAC) input, all DAC outputs can be updated simultaneously with previously loaded input registers. In addition, the internal power-on reset function forces the output voltage to zero when the system is powered on. The MSB pin allows for a system reset bit (RS), forcing all registers to zero-level codes when MSB = 0, or half-scale codes when MSB = 1.
The AD5544 is available in a compact 28-pin SSOP and 32-pin LFCSP package. The AD5554 is available in a compact 28-pin SSOP package.
