The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 are part of the nanoDAC® family and are low-power, single-channel, 12/14/16-bit, buffered voltage output DACs designed to ensure monotonicity.
The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660-1 have a built-in 1.25 V, 5 ppm/°C reference and a full-scale output voltage range of 2.5 V; The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660-2-3 have a built-in 2.5 V, 5 ppm/°C reference and a full-scale output voltage range of 5 V. The reference voltage of the device is available via the VREFOUT pin.
The device has a built-in power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output is powered up to 0 V (AD5620/AD5640/AD5660-1-2) or intermediate level (AD5620-3 and AD5660-3) and maintained until a valid write operation is performed. It also features a shutdown feature that reduces the device's power consumption to 480 nA at 5 V in shutdown mode and provides a software-selectable output load. Power consumption is 2.5 mW at 5 V, down to 1 μW in power-saving mode.
The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 have a built-in on-chip precision output amplifier that enables rail-to-rail output swing. For remote sensing applications, the output amplifier's inverting input is also available to the user. The AD5620/AD5640/AD5660 feature a versatile three-wire serial interface that is capable of operating at clock rates up to 30 MHz and is compatible with standard SPI®, QSPI™, MICROWIRE™, and DSP interface standards.
