AD5623R/AD5643R/AD5663R are all nanoDAC® series, which are low-power, dual-channel, 12/14/16-bit buffered voltage output digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply to ensure monotonicity through design.
Each of these devices has an on-chip reference source. The AD5623R-3/AD5643R-3/AD5663R-3 has a built-in 1.25 V, 5 ppm/°C reference with a full-scale output of 2.5 V; The AD5623R-5/AD5643R-5/AD5663R-5 has a built-in 2.5 V, 5 ppm/°C reference with a full-scale output of 5 V. When powered on, the on-chip reference is turned off, so an external reference can be used. All devices can be operated from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply. Performing a write operation on the DAC will turn on the internal reference source.
Each of these devices has a built-in power-on reset circuit that ensures that the DAC output is powered up to 0 V and maintains that level until a valid write operation is performed. It also features a shutdown feature that reduces the device's power consumption to 480 nA at 5 V in shutdown mode and provides a software-selectable output load.
In normal operating mode, the device has low power consumption, making it ideal for portable battery-powered devices.
The AD5623R/AD5643R/AD5663R features a versatile three-wire serial interface capable of operating at clock rates up to 50 MHz and is compatible with standard SPI®, QSPI™, MICROWIRE™, DSP interface standards. It has a built-in on-chip precision output amplifier that enables rail-to-rail output swing.
