The AD589 is a two-pin, low-cost, temperature-compensated bandgap reference that can provide a fixed 1.23 V output voltage from 50 μA to 5.0 mA input current.
Its high stability depends primarily on the matching and thermal tracking characteristics of the on-chip device. The device combines ADI's precision bipolar processing process with thin-film technology to deliver outstanding performance at a lower cost.
In addition, the output impedance produced by the active circuit is 10 times lower than that of a typical low-temperature coefficient Zener diode. This feature allows the device to operate without external components and maintain full accuracy under varying load conditions.
The AD589 is available in seven models. The AD589J/K/L/M class is rated for an operating temperature range of 0°C to +70°C, and the AD589S/T/U CLASS is rated for -55°C to +125°C. All grades are available in a metal cap shell (H-02A) package. The AD589J is also available in an 8-pin SOIC package.
