AD6641-500EBZ 250 MHz bandwidth DPD observation receiver

The AD6641 is a 250 MHz bandwidth digital predistortion observation receiver that integrates a 12-bit 500 MSPS ADC, a 16k × 12 FIFO, and a multimode back end that allows the user to retrieve data stored in integrated FIFO memory through a serial port (SPORT), an SPI interface, or a 12-bit parallel CMOS/6-bit DDR LVDS port. It has excellent dynamic performance and low power consumption for telecom applications such as digital predistortion observation paths that require wider bandwidth. All necessary functions, including a sample-and-hold and voltage reference, are integrated on-chip to provide a complete signal conversion solution.

The on-chip FIFO allows short time snapshots to be captured by the ADC and readback at a lower rate. In this way, the captured data can be transmitted at a much lower sample rate at any time, and signal processing limits are reduced. FIFOs can operate in a variety of user-programmable modes. In single-shot capture mode, ADC data is captured when signaled through the SPI port or using an external FILL ± pin. In continuous capture mode, data is continuously loaded into the FIFO and the operation is stopped using the FILL ± pin.
