AD7170BCPZ-REEL7 12-bit low power sigma−δ ADC
The AD7170 is a very low power, 12-bitAnalog-to-digital converters(ADC) with a precision 12-bit sigma-delta ADC and an on-chip oscillator. The device consumes only 135 μA, making it ideal for portable or battery-powered applications that require very low power consumption. It also features a power-down mode in which the device consumes only 5 μA, extending the battery life of the product.
For ease of use, all features of the AD7170 are controlled by dedicated pins. Each time a data read operation occurs, eight status bits are appended to the 12-bit conversion result. These status bits contain a sequence of codes that can be used to confirm the validity of the serial transmission. The AD7170 has an output data rate of 125 Hz and a settling time of 24 ms. It has a differential input with a gain of 1. This feature is useful in applications where the user needs an external amplifier to meet system-specific filtering or gain requirements.
The AD7170 operates from 2.7 V to 5.25 V and is available in a 10-lead LFCSP package.
The AD7171 is a 16-bit version of the AD7170. It has the same feature set as the AD7170 and is pin compatible.
