  • Product Details:

    The AD7172-2 is an intelligent, low-noise, low-power, multiplexed sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with 2/4 channels (fully differential/single-ended) inputs for low-bandwidth signals. The AD7172-2 has a maximum channel scan rate of 6.21 kSPS (161 μs) for fully established data. The device has an output data rate range of 1.25 SPS to 31.25 kSPS.

    The AD7172-2 integrates key analog and digital signal conditioning modules that allow users to individually configure each in-use analog input channel via SPI. Integrated true rail-to-rail buffers at analog and external reference inputs provide easy-to-drive high-impedance inputs. A precision 2.5 V low-drift (f2 ppm/°C) bandgap internal reference with output reference buffer adds embedding capabilities while reducing the number of external components.

    The digital filter allows for synchronous 50 Hz/60 Hz rejection at 27.27 SPS output data rate. Users can switch between filter options depending on the needs of each channel in the application, and further digital processing functions such as offset and gain calibration registers are available, which can also be configured on a per-channel basis. Universal input/output (GPIO) controls external multiplexers and synchronizes them to the ADC conversion timing.

    The AD7172-2 is rated for an operating temperature range of −40°C to +105°C and is available in a 24-pin TSSOP package.

    Note that throughout the datasheet, only the relevant function will refer to the dual function pin name.
