The AD7224 is a precision 8-bit voltage outputDigital-to-analog convertersAn output amplifier and double-buffered interface logic are integrated on a single CMOS chip. No external adjustments are required to achieve the full rated performance of the device.
The double-buffered interface logic consists of two 8-bit registers: an input register and a DAC register. The analog output of this converter depends only on the data held in the DAC registers. With the double-buffered architecture, systems with multiple AD7224s can be updated simultaneously. Under the control of three external lines (CS, WR, and LDAC), both registers can operate in transparent mode. When both registers are in transparent mode, the RESET line acts as zero overload, a feature useful for system calibration cycles. All logic inputs are TTL and CMOS (5V) level compatible, and control logic is compatible with most 8-bit microprocessor speeds.
Dual supplies with an input reference voltage of +2V to +12.5V guarantee the specified performance. The device can also operate from a single-supply, +10V reference. The output amplifier is capable of generating +10V into a 2 K (Ohm) load.
The AD7224 uses all-ion implantation for high speed, linear, linear, compatible CMOS (LC).2MOS), a process developed specifically for integrating high-speed digital logic circuits and precision analog circuits on the same chip.
