The AD7237A/AD7247A are enhanced versions of the industry-standard AD7237/AD7247, respectively, with improvements such as 12 V to 15 V supply operation, faster interface times, better voltage reference performance with VDD, and faster settling time.
The AD7237A/AD7247A are complete dual-channel, 12-bit, voltage-output digital-to-analog converters that integrate an output amplifier and Zener reference on a single CMOS chip to achieve full rated performance without external adjustments by the user.
Both devices are microprocessor-compatible and feature high-speed data latching and interface logic. AD7247A accepts 12-bit parallel data, which is loaded into the corresponding DAC latch via the WR input and the individual Chip Select input for each DAC. AD7237A has a dual-buffer interface structure and an 8-bit wide data bus with data loaded into the corresponding input latch in two write operations. The asynchronous LDAC signal on the AD7237A updates the DAC latch and analog outputs.
These devices feature REF OUT/REF IN (external/internal reference) and can be obtained from both a 5 V on-chip reference or an external reference. When powered from a single supply, it can provide two output ranges: 0 V to +5 V and 0 V to +10 V; When powered by dual supplies, an additional ±5 V output range is provided in addition to the above two output ranges. The output amplifier is capable of generating a ground (GND) +10 V voltage on a 2 kΩ load.
AD7237A/AD7247A are manufactured using a linear-compatible CMOS (LC2 MOS process), an advanced hybrid process technology that combines sophisticated bipolar circuitry with low-power CMOS logic. Both devices are available in two packages: a 0.3-inch-wide, 24-pin plastic-sealed dual in-line package (DIP) and a 24-pin small form factor integrated package (SOIC).
