The AD7242/AD7244 are fast, complete, dual, 12-/14-bit voltage outputs, respectivelyDigital-to-analog convertersA 12-/14-bit DAC, 3 V embedded Zener reference, DAC output amplifier, and high-speed serial interface logic are included.
Both DACs feature a serial interface to minimize pin count and allow for small package sizes. Standard control signals enable interfacing with most DSP processors and microcontrollers. Each DAC has a separate LDAC input, so updates to both DACs can be controlled asynchronously.
The AD7242/AD7244 operate from a ±5 V supply and provide an analog output range of ±3 V. Using the REF OUT/REF IN (Reference: External/Internal) function, these DACs can be driven with either a 3 V on-chip reference or an external reference.
The AD7242/AD7244 are linearly compatible with CMOS (LC).2MOS), an advanced hybrid process technology that combines sophisticated bipolar circuitry with low-power CMOS logic. Both devices are available in two packages: a 0.3-inch-wide, 24-pin plastic or hermetically sealed dual in-line package (DIP) and a 28-lead, plastic small integrated package (SOIC). The AD7242 and AD7244 use the same pinout, allowing easy upgrades from 12-bit to 14-bit performance.
