AD7294BSUZ 12-bit monitoring and control system with integrated multi-channel ADC, DAC, temperature sensor, and current sensing function

The AD7294 is a single-chip solution that combines all the common features needed for current, voltage, and temperature monitoring and control. The device includes a low-voltage (±200 mV) analog input sense amplifier for shunt resistor-current monitoring, a temperature sense input, and four non-dedicated analog input channels that are multiplexed to a SAR analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a 3μs conversion time. Both the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and ADC are driven by a high-precision internal reference voltage. Four 12-bit DACs provide the required outputs for voltage control. The AD7294 also includes boundary registers for alarm functions. The device is designed based on ADI's high-voltage DMOS process and meets its high voltage requirements: 59.4V current-sense input and DAC output voltage up to 15V.

The AD7294 is a highly integrated solution that includes all the features needed to precisely control power amplifiers in cellular base station applications. In these applications, DACs provide 12-bit resolution to control the bias current of power transistors; At the same time, a thermal diode-based temperature sensor is integrated to compensate for temperature effects; ADCs monitor high-end current and temperature; All of these features are integrated into the device in a 64-pin TQFP package with an operating temperature of -40°C to +105°C.
