The AD7356 is a dual 12-bit, high-speed, low-power successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from a single 2.5 V supply with up to 5 MSPS throughput. The device has two built-in ADCs, each preceded by a low-noise, wide-bandwidth sample-hold circuitry that can handle input frequencies above 110 MHz.

The conversion process and data sampling use standard control inputs that are easy to connect with a microprocessor or digital signal processor (DSP). Its input signal is sampled at the falling edge of the CS while the conversion begins. The changeover time is determined by the SCLK frequency.

The AD7356 uses advanced design techniques to achieve extremely low power consumption at high throughput. The device operates from a 2.5 V supply with a throughput rate of 5 MSPS and typically consumes 14 mA. The device also provides flexible power and throughput management when operating in normal mode with very low quiescent current power consumption.

The device uses differential inputs and has a common-mode ± Vref/2 range. The AD7356 has a built-in 2.048 V reference source and can also use an external reference source.
