The AD7390/AD7391 series are 10/12-bit output digital-to-analog converters that operate from a single +3 V supply. These single-chip DACs are manufactured using the CBCMOS process and are suitable for 3V single-power system applications and are low-cost and easy to use. With a guaranteed operating voltage range of +2.7 V to +5.5 V and a power consumption of less than 100 μA, this device is ideal for battery-powered applications.
The full-scale voltage output is determined by the applied external reference input voltage. Rail-to-rail REFIN to DACOUT allows the full-scale voltage to be set to a positive supply voltage VDD or any value in between.
The dual-buffered serial data interface utilizes data input (SDI), clock (CLK), and chip selection (CS/LD) pins to provide high-speed, three-wire, SPI, and microcontroller-compatible inputs. In addition, the CLR input can set the output to zero when powered on or requested by the user.
Both devices feature the same pinout, allowing users to select the appropriate resolution for their specific application without having to redesign the board.
The AD7390/AD7391 are rated for an extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and are available in plastic DIP and 1.75 mm, low-profile SO-8 surface-mount packages. For ultra-compact applications, a 1.1 mm, ultra-thin TSSOP-8 package is also available.
