AD7400AYRWZ isolated sigma-delta modulator

The AD7400 is a second-order sigma-delta modulator that uses on-chip digital isolation from Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler®, to convert analog input signals to a high speed, 1-bit data stream. The AD7400 operates from a 5 V supply and can input a differential signal of ± 200 mV (320 mV full-scale± 320 mV).Analog modulatorThe input signal is continuously sampled, eliminating the need for an external sample-and-hold circuitry. The input information is contained in an output stream with a data rate of 10 MHz, and the original information can be reconstructed with appropriate digital filters. Serial I/O can operate from a 5 V or 3 V supply (VDD2 )。

The serial interface is digitally isolated. By combining a high-speed CMOS process with monolithic air-core transformer technology, on-chip isolation provides superior operating characteristics compared to other devices such as traditional optocouplers. The device has an on-chip reference. The AD7400 is available in a 16-lead SOIC package and operates over the −40°C to +105°C temperature range.
