AD7403-8BRIZ-RL

The AD7403 is a high-performance, second-order sigma-delta modulator with on-chip digital isolation using Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology to convert analog input signals into high-speed, single-bit data streams. The AD7403 operates from a 5 volt (VDD1) supply and can input a differential signal ± 250 mV (full-scale±320 mV). This differential input signal is ideal for monitoring shunt voltages in high-voltage applications requiring galvanic isolation.

The analog input is continuously sampled by a high-performance analog modulator and converted into a digital output stream with a data rate of up to 20 MHz and a density of 1. The raw information can be reconstructed with appropriate digital filters to achieve a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 88 dB at 78.1 kSPS. Serial inputs/outputs can be operated from either a 5 V or 3 V supply (VDD2).

Serial interfaces are digitally isolated. By combining high-speed complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology with monolithic transformer technology, in-chip isolation provides superior operating characteristics compared to other components such as traditional optocouplers. The AD7403 is available in a 16-pin, wide-body SOIC package with an operating temperature range of −40°C to +125°C. The AD7403-8 is available in an 8-pin, wide-body SOIC package with an operating temperature range of −40°C to +105°C.
