The AD7548 is a 12-bit monolithic CMOS DAC suitable for use with 8-bit busesmicroprocessorUsed together. Data is loaded into the input holdover register as double-byte, as shown in the block diagram on the right. The AD7548 supports left- or right-aligned data, LSB-first, or MSB-first, and uses standard TTL-compatible control inputs.
A separate load DAC control input allows the user to select when the analog output is updated: at the same time that new data is loaded into the DAC input registers or at any time after the data is loaded. This feature is especially important in multi-DAC systems that require all DACs to be updated simultaneously.
