Product details

Both the AD7834 and AD7835 integrate four 14-bit DACs on a single chip with an output voltage range of ±8.192 V and an output voltage maximum spanning of 14 V.

The AD7834 is a serial input device. Data is in 16-bit format via DIN, SCLK and FSYNC, load a DAC from the external serial bus, with the first two digits as 0, and then load the MSB first. The AD7834 has five dedicated package address pins PA0 through PA4; In multi-package applications, these pins can be connected to AGND or VCCto locate each device for up to 32 AD7834s.

The AD7835 can accept either 14-bit parallel loading or double-byte loading, where right-aligned data is loaded as an 8-byte and a 6-bit byte. atWR.CSBYSHFand controlled by DAC channel address pins A0 through A2, data is loaded from the external bus into one of the input latches.

For each device, LDAC signals can be used to update the outputs of all four DACs simultaneously or individually, as new data is received. In addition, for each device, async can be leveragedCLRInput, output all signals to VOUT1 to VOUT4Set to a user-defined level on the DSG of the device's ground reference. At power-up, internal circuitry keeps the DAC output level within ±2 V of the DSG potential until the supply reaches a steady state. After the power supply stabilizes, the DAC output level moves accurately to the DSG potential (assuming applicationCLRfunction).

The AD7834 is available in 28-lead 0.3" SOIC and 28-lead 0.6" PDIP packages, and the AD7835 is available in 44-lead MQFP and 44-lead PLCC packages.
