The AD8300 is a complete 12-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converter that operates from a single +3 V supply. Manufactured using the CBCMOS process, this single-chip DAC is suitable for +3 V single-supply system applications and is low-cost and easy to use. The guaranteed operating voltage range of +2.7 V to +5.5 V makes this device ideal for battery-powered applications.
The full-scale voltage output is 2.0475 V and is laser-tuned to maintain accuracy over the entire operating temperature range of the device. The binary input data format provides easy-to-use 0.5 mV per per-user software programmability. The voltage output is capable of providing a source current of 5 mA.
The dual-buffered serial data interface utilizes data input (SDI), clock (CLK), and load gating (LD) pins to provide high-speed, three-wire, DSP, and microcontroller-compatible inputs. The Chip Selection (CS) pin enables clock input when active at low levels, simplifying connectivity in multi-DAC packages. In addition, the CLR input can set the output to zero when powered on or requested by the user.
The AD8300 is rated for a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in both molded DIP and 1.5 mm, low-profile SO-8 surface-mount packages.
