The AD9516-1 has excellent low jitter and phase noise characteristics that greatly improve data converter performance and are beneficial for other applications where phase noise and jitter are critical.
The AD9516-1 provides 6 LVPECL outputs (in three pairs), 4 LVDS outputs in two pairs, and 8 CMOS outputs (two for each LVDS output). The LVPECL output operates at 1.6 GHz, the LVDS output at 800 MHz, and the CMOS output at 250 MHz.
Each pair of outputs has a crossover that can be set for both the crossover ratio and coarse delay (or phase). LVPECL outputs are available in a crossover range of 1 to 32. The crossover range of LVDS/CMOS outputs is up to 1024.
The AD9516-1 is available in a 64-pin LFCSP package and can be operated from a single 3.3 V supply. When connecting a charge pump power supply (VCP) to a 5 V voltage, an external VCO can be used, which requires a wider voltage range. The stand-alone LVPECL supply can be from 2.5 V to 3.3 V (nominal).
The AD9516-1 is rated for an operating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C industrial temperatures.
