Product details

The AD9737A/AD9739A are 11-bit/14-bit, 2.5 GSPS high performance RF DACs capable of synthesizing wideband signals from dc to 3 GHz. The AD9737A/AD9739A are pin and function compatible with the AD9739, but do not support synchronization or RZ mode and are specified for operation from 1.6 GSPS to 2.5 GSPS.

Due to the removal of the synchronization circuitry, some undesirable interferences on the AD9737A/AD9739A (i.e., image and discrete clock spurs) remain fixed between power-up cycles, allowing system calibration. The ac linearity and noise performance of the AD9739 and AD9737A/AD9739A are identical.

A built-in on-chip controller simplifies system integration. The dual-port source-synchronous LVDS interface simplifies digital interfacing with existing FGPA/ASIC technologies. An on-chip controller manages external and internal clock domain changes over temperature to ensure reliable data transfer between the host and DAC cores. A serial peripheral interface (SPI) is also provided for device configuration and status register readback.

The AD9737A/AD9739A are manufactured on a 0.18 μm CMOS process and operate from 1.8 V and 3.3 V supplies. These devices are available in a 160-pin chip-scale ball grid array package with low package parasitics.
