AD9737A/AD9739A is an 11-bit/14-bit, 2.5 GSPS high-performance RF DAC capable of synthesizing wideband signals from DC to 3 GHz. The AD9737A/AD9739A is pin-to-pin and features compatible with the AD9739, but does not support synchronous or RZ modes and is rated for 1.6 GSPS to 2.5 GSPS.

Due to the removal of the synchronization circuitry, some of the undesirable interference on the AD9737A/AD9739A (i.e., image and discrete clock spurs) remains fixed between power-up cycles, allowing for system calibration. The AD9739 and AD9737A/AD9739A have the same AC linearity and noise performance.

The built-in on-chip controller simplifies system integration. The dual-port source-synchronous LVDS interface simplifies the digital interface to existing FGPA/ASIC technologies. The on-chip controller manages temperature-dependent changes in the external and internal clock domains to ensure reliable data transfer between the host and the DAC core. A serial peripheral interface (SPI) is also provided for device configuration and status register readback.

The AD9737A/AD9739A is manufactured using a 0.18 μm CMOS process and is powered from 1.8 V and 3.3 V supplies. These devices are available in a 160-pin chip-scale ball grid array package with low package parasitic effects.
