The ADC10080 is a monolithic CMOS analog-to-digital converter capable of converting analog input signals up to 80 per second (MSPS) to 10-bit numbers. The converter uses a differential pipelined architecture, digital error correction, and on-chip sample-and-hold circuitry to provide a complete conversion solution while minimizing power consumption while providing excellent power performance. A unique sample-and-hold stage produces full power bandwidth 400 MHz. Operating from a single 3.0V supply, the device consumes only it 78.6 mW at 80 MSPS, Reference current included. The standby function only reduces power consumption 15 MW.

The differential input is 2.0 V at full scalePP,1.5VPP,1.0VPP,Selectable input swings provide a single-ended input possibility. Taking full advantage of differential inputs is recommended for optimal performance. An internal 1.2 V precision bandgap reference is used to set the full-scale range of the ADC and also allows the user to provide a buffered reference voltage for applications that require improved accuracy. The output data format is either a user-selected offset binary or a complement of two.

This device is available in a 28-lead TSSOP package and will be in the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
