ADC081C021 is a low-power, monolithic 8-bit chip, Analog to digital Converter (ADC) that operates from a 2.7 to 5.5V supply. The converter is based on a successive approximation register structure with internal track and hold circuitry and can handle input frequencies up to 11MHz. ADC081C021 Operate from a single supply, which is also used as a reference. The device has: I 2 C compatible Serial interface, operates in all three speed modes, including high-speed mode (3.4MHz).

The ADC's alarm function provides an interrupt when an analog input is activated, violating a programmable upper or lower limit. The device has an automatic conversion mode that frees up the controller and I 2 C interface. In this mode, the ADC constantly monitors the analog input for "range" conditions and provides an interrupt if the measured voltage is out of range.

ADC081C021 comes from two packages: a small TSOT-6 package with alarm output, an MSOP-8 package with alarm output and 2 address selection inputs. ADC081C027 In a small TSOT-6 package with an address selection input. ADC081C027 Three pin selectable addresses are available, while the ADC081C021 with the MSOP-8 version offers 9 pin selectable addresses. Pin-compatible alternative TSOT-6 options are available with additional address options.

The power consumption for +3 V or +5 V power supply is 0.26mW and 0.78mW, respectively. Automatic power-off function reduces power consumption to less than 1μW without conversion. Guaranteed industrial temperature range from -40°C to +105°C above operation. Its low power consumption and small package make this series of ADCs a good choice for using battery-powered devices.
