“ ADC12040 is a monolithic CMOS analog-to-digital converter capable of converting the smallest analog input signal to 12 digits at 40 up to 12 bits per second (MSPS). The converter uses a differential, pipeline architecture with digital error correction and an on-chip sampling and hold circuit to minimize die size and power consumption while providing excellent dynamic performance. This device operates from a single 5V supply at 40 MSPS, including a reference current consumption of only 340 milliwatts. Downward function power consumption reduced to 40 megawatts.

Differential inputs offer the possibility of a full-scale differential input swing equal to a single-ended input of 2V , although taking full advantage of the optimal performance required for differential inputs. For ease of use, buffered, high-impedance, single-ended reference input conversion chip processing circuits use a differential reference. The output data format is 12-bit offset binary.

The device is available in a 32-pin LQFP package and will operate over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
