These converters are low-power, single-chip, 12-bit, analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that operate from a 2.7 to 5.5V supply. The converter is based on successive approximation of internal track and hold circuitry and can handle input frequencies up to 11MHz register structures. These converters operate from a single supply and are also used as references. The unit is characterized by: I 2 C compatible Serial interface, operating in all three speed modes, including high-speed mode (3.4MHz).

The ADC121C021's alarm function provides an interrupt when the upper or lower limit of the programmable analog input is violated when activated. The device has an automatic conversion mode that frees up the controller and I 2 C interface. In this mode, the ADC's analog inputs are continuously monitored, providing an interrupt for "out-of-range" conditions if the measured voltage goes out of range.

The ADC121C021 comes in two packages: a small package with a TSOT-6 package with an alarm output, and an MSOP-8 package with an alarm output and two address selection input packages. should ADC121C027 Adopt a small address selection input package with TSOT-6. should ADC121C027 Three pin-selectable addresses are available, while the MSOP-8 ADC121C021 version provides nine-pin selectable addresses. Normal power consumption uses a +3 V or +5 V supply or 0.78mW and 0.26mW, respectively. The automatic power saving function reduces the power consumption of less than 1μW without conversion. Guaranteed to operate at -40°C industrial temperature range of 105°C. Their low power consumption and small package make this series of ADCs ideal for use in battery-powered devices.
