ADE75181Analog Devices energy (ADE) metering IC analog front end and fixed-function DSP solution with an enhanced 8052 MCU core, RTC, LCD driver, and all peripherals provide a meter with LCD display.

The ADE measurement core includes active, reactive, and apparent power calculations as well as rms measurements for voltage and current. This information can be used directly for billing purposes via the built-in energy scalar. Energy metering DSPs include many power line monitoring functions such as SAG, peak, and zero crossover to simplify meter design.

Microprocessor features include a single-cycle 8052 core, real-time clock with backup power pins, UART, and SPI or I2C® interface. ADE cores provide out-of-the-box information, reducing program memory size requirements and making it easy to integrate complex designs into 16 kB of flash memory.

The ADE7518 also includes a 108-segment LCD driver. The waveform generated by this driver is capable of driving the LCD up to 3.3V.
