All RS-232 (T_OUT and R_IN) and TTL/CMOS (T_IN and R_OUT) inputs and outputs are electrostatic discharge protected (up to ± 15 kV ESD protection) to ensure compliance with IEC 1000-4-2 requirements.
Because the input/output pins provide ± 15 kV ESD protection, the device is ideal for operating in environments with harsh electrical conditions or applications that require frequent plugging and unplugging of RS-232 cables.
Radiation is also kept within very strict limits. With CMOS technology, power consumption is ensured to be absolutely minimized, resulting in the longest battery life for portable applications.
The voltage multiplier/inverter uses four 0.1 μF external charge pump capacitors, which allows the device to be powered from a single 3.3 V supply.
ADM3232E available in a 16-pin narrow-body SOIC package as well as a space-saving 16-pin TSSOP package.
