ADP1720 is a high-voltage, micro-power, low-dropout linear regulator that operates over an extremely wide input voltage range (4 V to 28 V) and provides up to 50 mA of output current. With a quiescent supply current of only 28 μA and a micropower shutdown mode, the device is ideal for applications requiring low quiescent current.
ADP1720 uses fixed output voltages of 3.3 V and 5.0 V, while an adjustable voltage version is available, allowing the output to be set to any value between 1.225 V and 5.0 V. Provides enabling features that allow external circuitry to turn ADP1720 outputs on or off. To achieve automatic start-up, the enable pin (EN) can be connected directly to the input rail.
ADP1720 optimized to use a small 1 μF ceramic output capacitor for stable operation, the device has good transient performance while minimizing board footprint.
The ADP1720 has an operating temperature range of –40 °C to +125 °C and uses current-limiting protection and over-temperature protection circuitry to prevent device damage under adverse conditions.
ADP1720 is available in a small, thermally enhanced MSOP package that provides a compact solution with low thermal resistance.
