Малый потребляемый ток, малое падение напряжения и широкий диапазон входного напряжения ADP221 продлевают срок службы батареи портативных устройств. Работая на частотах до 100 кГц, эти устройства поддерживают подавление источника питания выше 60 дБ при низком запасе по напряжению. По сравнению с конкурирующими продуктами LDO, ADP220 гораздо менее шумный и не требует шумопоглощающих конденсаторов. ADP221 также содержит активный понижающий резистор для быстрой разрядки выходной нагрузки.

ADP221 поддерживает множество комбинаций выходных напряжений в диапазоне от 0.8 В до 3.3 В и обеспечивает защиту от перегрузки по току и перегрева от повреждений в неблагоприятных условиях.
