In addition to the new architecture and process, Analog Devices' new proprietary thermal coastline package can handle 1 W of power consumption without the need for an external heat sink or large area of copper on the printed circuit board. This minimizes the printed circuit board area, making it attractive for portable devices.
ADP3303 has a wide input voltage range (3.2 V to 12 V) and provides a load current of over 200 mA. The device has an error flag that displays information when the device is about to undergo an offset, or when short-circuit, thermal overload protection is activated. Other features include shutdown and optional noise cancellation. The ADP330x anyCAP® LDO series offers a wide output voltage range with output current levels from 50 mA to 200 mA:
