ADP7105Is a CMOS, low dropout (LDO)
Linear regulatorIt operates from a 3.3 V to 20 V supply with a maximum output current of 500 mA. This high input voltage LDO is suitable for regulating high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits supplying from 1.22 V to 19 V. The device uses an advanced proprietary architecture that provides high power supply rejection, low noise, and requires only a small 1 μF ceramic output capacitor for excellent line and load transient response.
The ADP7105 is available in three fixed output voltage options and adjustable output models that regulate the output voltage from 1.22 V to 19 V with an external feedback divider. The ADP7105 can be programmed to set startup by connecting an external soft-start capacitor.
Note that in the data sheet, the sense function (SENSE) of the SENSE/ADJ pin is only applied to fixed output voltage mode, while the adjustable input function (ADJ) is only applied to adjustable output voltage mode. For example, Figure 1 shows the detection function and Figure 2 shows the adjustable input function.
The ADP7105 output noise voltage is 15 μV rms and is independent of the output voltage. These devices have a "power good" digital output pin that allows the power system monitor to check if the output voltage is healthy. User-programmable precision undervoltage lockout allows easy sequencing of multiple power supplies.
The ADP7105 is available in 8-lead 3 mm × 3 mm LFCSP and 8-lead SOIC packages. LFCSP not only provides an ultra-compact solution with excellent thermal performance, meeting the needs of applications up to 500 mA output current in a small and thin board space.
