The ADS1100 is a precision, constantly self-calibrating analog-to-digital (A/D) converter with differential inputs and a small SOT23-6 package with up to 16-bit resolution. Perform a conversion ratiometrically, using a power supply with a reference voltage. The ADS1100 uses an I²C-compatible serial interface and 5.5V operation from single to supply range from 2.7V.

The ADS1100 can be performed at 8, 16 rates, 32 conversions, or every 128 samples. An on-board programmable gain amplifier (PGA), which provides up to 8 gains, allows high-resolution measurements with smaller signals. In single conversion mode, the ADS1100 automatically powers down the transition, greatly reducing current consumption during idle periods.
