The ADuM1250 provides two bidirectional channels that support a fully isolated I2C interface. The ADuM1251 provides a bidirectional channel and a unidirectional channel for applications that do not require bidirectional clocking.

Both the ADuM1250 and ADuM1251 have built-in hot-swap circuitry to prevent unwanted data when a passive card is inserted into the active bus.

These isolators use ADI's iCoupler® chip-scale transformer technology. iCoupler is a magnetically isolated technology that outperforms optocouplers in function, performance, size, and power consumption. The ADuM1250/ADuM1251 integrate the iCoupler channel with semiconductor circuitry and achieve complete isolation in a small package²C interface.
