The ADuM130x is based on Analog Devices
iCoupler® technology
Three-channel digital isolator。 These isolation devices combine high-speed CMOS with monolithic transformer technology to have excellent performance characteristics over alternative devices such as optocouplers.
iCoupler devices do not use LEDs and photodiodes, so there are no design difficulties typically associated with optocouplers. simpleiThe Coupler digital interface and robust performance characteristics eliminate the problems typically associated with optocouplers such as uncertain current transfer ratios, nonlinear transfer functions, and temperature and lifetime effects. theseiCoupler products do not require external drivers and other discrete components. In addition, in the case of comparable signal data rates,iThe power consumption of Coupler devices is only 1/10 to 1/6 of that of optocouplers.
The ADuM130x isolators provide three independent isolation channels supporting multiple channel configurations and data rates (refer to the Ordering Guide section of the data sheet). Both models operate from supply voltages from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and are capable of voltage conversion across the isolation barrier. In addition, the ADuM130x features low pulse width distortion (less than 2 ns in the CRW stage) and tight channel-to-channel matching (less than 2 ns in the CRW stage). Unlike other optocouplers, the ADuM130x isolator has a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness in the absence of input logic conversion and in the absence of a single power supply.
