The ADuM140 is based on Analog Devices
iCoupler® technology
4-channel digital isolator。 These isolation devices combine high-speed CMOS with monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide excellent performance characteristics over optocouplers and alternative devices such as other integrated couplers. The maximum propagation delay is 13 ns and the pulse width distortion is less than 3 ns. It also features strict channel-to-channel matching of 3 ns.
The ADuM140 data channels are stand-alone and available in a variety of configurations to withstand a voltage rating of 3.75 kVrms (see Ordering Guide). These devices can operate from supply voltages from 1.8 V to 5 V, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and are capable of voltage conversion across the isolation barrier.
Unlike other optocouplers, DC correctness is ensured when there is no input logic conversion. They offer two different fail-safe options to transition the output to a predetermined state when the input power supply is unused or the input is disabled. The ADuM140E is pin-compatible with the ADuM140x family.
