The ADuM141x is based on Analog Devices
iCoupler® technology
Quad digital isolator。 These isolation devices combine high-speed CMOS with monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide superior performance characteristics over alternative devices such as optocouplers.
iCoupler devices do not use LEDs and photodiodes, so there are no design difficulties typically associated with optocouplers. simple iThe Coupler digital interface and robust performance characteristics eliminate the problems typically associated with optocouplers such as uncertain current transfer ratios, nonlinear transfer functions, and temperature and lifetime effects. theseiCoupler products do not require external drivers and other discrete components. In addition, in the case of comparable signal data rates,iCoupler devices consume only 1/10 to 1/6 of the power of optocouplers.
The ADuM141x isolator provides four independent isolation channels, supporting multiple channel configurations and data rates up to 10 Mbps (refer to the Ordering Guide). All models operate from supply voltages from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and are capable of voltage conversion across the isolation barrier. All products have default output control pins. This pin allows the user to define the logic state of the output when there is no input supply. Unlike other optocouplers, the ADuM141x isolator has a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness in the absence of input logic transitions and power-up/shutdown conditions.
