The ADuM140D/ADuM140E/ADuM141D/ADuM141E/ADuM142D/ADuM142E are 4-channel digital isolators based on Analog Devices' iCoupler® technology, of which only the ADuM140D and ADuM140E are available. These isolators combine high-speed, complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) with single-chip air-core transformer technology to provide superior performance characteristics over alternatives such as optocouplers and other integrated couplers. The devices have a maximum propagation delay of 13 ns and a pulse width distortion of less than 3 ns at 5 V. It has a strict 3.0 ns (maximum) channel matching.
The ADuM140D/ADuM140E/ADuM141D/ADuM141E/ADuM141E/ADuM142D/ADuM142E data channels are stand-alone and offer a variety of configuration options to withstand a voltage rating of 3.75 kV rms. They can operate from a 1.8 V to 5 V supply voltage, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and can achieve voltage conversion across isolation barriers.
Unlike other optocouplers, it ensures that there is no DC correctness during input logic conversion. They offer two different fail-safe options where the output transitions to a predetermined state when the input power is not used or the input is disabled. The ADuM14xE1 is pin-compatible with the ADuM140x.
