The ADuM2200/ADuM2201 are based on Analog Devices iCoupler® technology
Dual channel digital isolator。 These isolation devices combine high-speed CMOS with monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide superior performance characteristics over alternative devices such as optocouplers.
iCoupler devices do not require LEDs and photodiodes, so there are no design difficulties typically associated with optocouplers. The simple iCoupler digital interface and robust performance characteristics eliminate the uncertain current transfer ratio, nonlinear transfer function, and temperature and lifetime effects typically associated with optocouplers. These iCoupler products do not require external drivers and other discrete components. In addition, iCoupler devices consume only 1/10 to 1/6 of the power consumption of optocouplers at comparable signal data rates.
The ADuM2200/ADuM2201 isolators provide two independent isolation channels that support both channel configurations and data rates up to 10 Mbps (refer to the Ordering Guide). Both devices operate from supply voltages from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and are capable of voltage conversion across the isolation barrier. The ADuM2200/ADuM2201 isolators feature a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness in the absence of input logic transitions and power-up/shutdown conditions.
Similar to the ADuM3200/ADuM3201 Isolators, the ADuM2200/ADuM2201 isolators include various circuit and layout improvements that are significantly enhanced by system-level IEC 61000-4-x tests (ESD, Burst, and Inbound). For the ADuM3200/ADuM3201 or ADuM2200/ADuM2201 products, the accuracy of these tests depends primarily on the design and layout of the user's board or module.
