The ADuM2280/ADuM2281/ADuM2285/ADuM2286 (also referred to as ADuM228x in this data sheet) are 5 kV rms dual digital isolators using ADI
iCoupler® technology. These isolation devices combine high-speed CMOS with monolithic air-core transformer technology to provide excellent performance characteristics over optocouplers and alternative devices such as other integrated couplers.
These devices have a maximum propagation delay of 24 ns and less than 2 ns pulse width distortion in the C class. Class C also features strict channel-to-channel matching of 5 ns. The ADuM228x is available in two channel configurations with three different data rates up to 100 Mbps (see ordering guide). All models operate from supply voltages from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, are compatible with low-voltage systems, and are capable of voltage conversion across the isolation barrier. Unlike other optocouplers, the ADuM228x isolator has a patented refresh feature that ensures dc correctness in the absence of input logic conversion. The ADuM2280 and ADuM2281 default output high and the ADuM2285 and ADuM2286 default output low when power is first powered up or before power has been applied at the input.
