Compared to gate drivers using a high-voltage level-shifting approach, the ADuM7234 has true current isolation between the input and the outputs. Each output can operate up to ±350 VPEAK relative to the input, allowing low-end switching to negative voltage. The differential voltage between the high end and the low end can reach up to 350 VPEAK.
As a result, the ADuM7234 can reliably control the switching characteristics of IGBT/MOSFET configurations over a wide range of positive or negative switching voltages.
